What should we wear for our session?

There are so many great ideas on Pinterest for coordinating wardrobes for family sessions, many ideas for senior sessions and maternity sessions.  For newborn sessions I suggest neutral, casual and comfortable clothing. I provide wraps and everything necessary for the newborns during the session.

What locations can we use for our session?

I have many different locations available: Creek/nature trail, open pasture for sunset and sunrise sessions, urban/downtown locations, and I offer in-home "lifestyle" sessions within 20 miles of the Dallas, Ga area.  Many of my locations are in the Marietta area. I am also open to suggestions.

When and how will I get my pictures?

You will receive your edited session via digital download through an online gallery.  I try and have your pictures ready within 2.5 weeks of your session. The gallery will be online for 2 weeks. Please download your images within the 2 week period.

Will I get a sneak peek of my pictures?

I usually try and post a sneak peek of your session on social media.  During peak photography months a sneak peek is not always available.

Can I post our digital pictures online?

YES! You will receive a print release and you can also post online.  Please give photo credit to Ashley Mushegan Photography and do not add filters to any pictures posted online.

Where should I print my images?

You will receive recommendations of printing companies with your online gallery.

Do you provide props?

For most of the locations that I use there is no need for additional props.  I will bring a quilt along if I think that it will add to your pictures.  I also have different things for little children but most of the time I use what is available in nature.  For CAKE SMASH sessions I have the parents provide the cake due to personal preference of taste, color and food allergies.  For newborn sessions I provide many props and wraps!

What if my child does not cooperate?

I have been photographing children for the last 7 years.  I have also been an elementary teacher for the last 14 years and have 3 children of my own.  I am pretty good at getting some of the most uncooperative kids to smile during their session. I try and keep things "not too serious" or posed.  Although I cannot guarantee that your child is going to be a perfect angel and some children are definitely more challenging than others, I always try my hardest to get the best images of your family.

What if there is bad weather?

Unless it is actively raining or the ground is too saturated with water from a previous rain, I try and stick to the original session date and time.  If it is raining then I try to reschedule for the next possible date that works with both parties schedules.

When should we book our session?

I book my sessions around the best possible lighting situations which is around sunrise and sunset times.  I do not book Friday or Saturday evening sessions.  For weekends I book on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoon/evenings.  My weekends book up faster than week days.  I also book sessions for Mon-Thurs evenings around an hour before sunset.

What are mini sessions?

I offer mini sessions at various locations on select dates throughout the year.  These are 10-20 minute sessions with reduced rates.  You receive between 5-15 edited images of your session.  Please follow my Facebook page or Instagram account to stay up to date on mini session events.

What type of equipment do you use?

I use Nikon equipment.  I shoot with the Nikon D850 and use various lenses depending on the session.

Please read the About Page for more information.
